Eufy built its camera line around local storage on a home hub, with cloud features off by default, and the company positions that as the core of the product. In normal use, footage stays on your hardware.
Those claims took damage in late 2022, when researchers reported that Eufy’s web portal could stream feeds unencrypted and remotely, contrary to earlier statements the company had made; Eufy disputed parts of that reporting and said it fixed the issues. Keep firmware current and judge with that history in mind.
