Mullvad VPN – The Anonymous Account

Mullvad gives you a numbered account and nothing else. No name, no email, no password. You can mail them cash. The apps are open source. They have been audited, they publish when police show up, and in a 2023 search of their office there was no traffic log to hand over because they do not keep one.

The company is in Sweden. Sweden sits in the Fourteen Eyes intelligence arrangement. Mullvad’s answer is the lack of an account, not the flag. They also removed port forwarding, which some people wanted and which is also a feature abusers wanted. There is no affiliate carnival. The public DNS servers they used to run shut on 2 November 2026. The VPN’s own DNS inside the tunnel is separate and stays.

Use it if you will pay and you want the account to be a number. mullvad.net

Mullvad’s account number is the login. Write it down offline. There is no email reset. Their apps can block traffic when the tunnel drops. Turn that on. Sweden’s intelligence partnerships are the caveat people quote. The design answer is that a raid still finds no traffic log and no name. Do not buy it with a personal card if that was the whole point, and do not expect port forwarding.
