mail.tm makes a disposable address with a password and a public API. That is why developers use it for registration tests. The inbox is not a world-readable web page the way some older throwaway sites are. The operator can still read the mail, and anyone you share the address and password with can read it too.
Addresses are temporary. There is no recovery desk. A password reset sent to mail.tm is a password reset you can lose by closing the tab. Do not use it for banking, medical accounts, or anything you may need in a year. The clean API does not change who holds the messages.
Use it for a one-time code on a site you do not trust with your real inbox. Then abandon the address. mail.tm
