BiglyBT is the continuation of Vuze and Azureus, a Java BitTorrent client with a huge surface: tags, swarm tools, remote control, plugins. If a torrent feature exists, it is probably in a panel somewhere. The project is open source.
Java and the dense window are the cost. New users get lost. Many switches interact. The privacy basics are the same as every other client: peers see the IP of the machine running it, and a VPN only counts if the traffic cannot escape the tunnel. Do not enable every plugin because the list is long. Start from the defaults, then add the one feature you came for.
Use it when you already know which advanced control you need. biglybt.com
BiglyBT starts more features than you need. Disable the ones you do not understand, especially anything that publishes extra information about your client. Java has to stay updated because the app sits on it. The Android remote is convenient and it is another login to a box that is downloading. Use a strong password and do not forward that port to the world. When you are lost in the panels, switch to qBittorrent rather than clicking until it works.
