PeaZip is an open-source archiver for Windows and Linux, written by Giorgio Tani. It reads a huge list of formats and can encrypt archives. The interface is closer to a normal program than 7-Zip’s file list. It can sit on top of 7-Zip’s engine for some jobs.
The options are deep. A wrong setting produces an archive your friend cannot open. Download it from the project’s site or a distribution repo, not a software-bundle page. PeaZip is a tool for files you already have. It does not decide whether the cloud you upload them to can read them.
Use it when you want a clearer window than 7-Zip and you are on Windows or Linux. peazip.github.io
PeaZip can create encrypted archives and it can also store them with a keyfile. A keyfile without a backup is a lost archive. Prefer a passphrase you can type if the file must move between people. Test the archive on the other computer before you delete the original. The long format list means you can open odd downloads. It does not mean you should open them from strangers.
