Kopia does encrypted, deduplicated snapshots, like Restic, and it also ships a graphical window and a server mode. Backends include local disks and the usual cloud buckets. It is open source and cross-platform. People who will not live in a terminal can start here.
The project is younger than Borg. The GUI hides choices you still have to make: how often, how long to keep, who else can open the repository. A wrong retention policy deletes the past on schedule. The encryption password is not recoverable from Kopia’s authors. Write it down somewhere that is not only inside the backup.
Use it if you want Restic’s shape with a window. kopia.io
Kopia’s GUI will offer a cloud login. You can also point it at a disk. Pick the disk first if you are learning. Set a retention that keeps daily backups for a week and a few older ones, then look at what would be deleted before you save the policy. The repository password goes on paper. Kopia cannot email it back to you. If you later move to Restic, they are not the same format. Plan one tool, not three half-configured ones.
